When my father died I had a variety of odds and ends— coins and jewelry and watches. John is extremely knowledgeable and transparent in his transactions- He explained why items had value or not and how any calculation was made. He is both friendly and fair.

Yesterday I decided to walk into Johns store with no expectations... I never would've expected to genuinely like John (the owner) and to trust a complete stranger . John is an awesome guy and more than fair in all transactions - selling or buying. I recently sold some silver to John, both US Mint and secondary market silver coins and one ounce silver pieces - very happy with valuations - once again more than fair. Also sold some silver currency - half dollars and quarters - John took the time to look through every coin and tell me which ones had greater value and paid out accordingly. I recently also bought some Morgan and Peace Dollars, and again his prices were very fair. I still have some more coin transactions to do, and rest assured I’m going back to his shop! I seldom take the time to write reviews, but I think John (A&D Gold and Silver) is an exceptional local business and I highly recommend him and his shop! 5 Stars for sure!

I took my young son to the store today. He just started collecting and was hoping hoping to get a few cool coins to add to his collection. The owner, John, was more helpful than anyone could expect. We had went to a couple shops prior and were depressed by the expensive prices and snobby employees after they realized we weren't after pricy items. John took his time to explain a lot about the coins to my son. He showed us old coins that have seen better days..but were EXACTLY what we wanted. A pile of old coins my son viewed as the ultimate treasure! We were able to get a bunch for generous prices. We walked out with some starter kits, some exciting old coins and smiles on our faces. I cannot thank John enough for making it such a positive experience for my son.. If more people were like him, there might be more young collectors out there.
